Barry Elementary - Early Childhood Special Education
I have been a Speech Language Pathologist with the Platte County R-3 school district since 2015. I work at Barry Elementary, with the early childhood special education (ECSE) program. I have an undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Missouri State University and a Master of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Truman State University. I am a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and am certified with the the Missouri Board of Healing Arts. My passion is to help students build their overall communication skills. I have a special interest in AAC (augmentative and alternative communication).
My husband and I have two amazing children - 2 daughters, as well as 2 very active dogs (a mini Aussie and black lab).
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cheering for the Chiefs and Royals, reading mystery and thriller novels, kayaking and spending time outdoors, and painting and doing other crafty things.
I look forward to working with new and familiar faces this year! Let's go Pirates!
