My family and I have loved being a part of Pirate Nation for many years now! We started out being parents of Pirates but have loved the community and district so much that my husband and I felt compelled to have an even bigger role. Robert and I met during our first year as educators in Atchison, Kansas and have been married for over 20 years. We love the small town feel of Platte City and the easy access to my hometown of Kansas City and all it has to offer. We have raised 2 sons as Pirates, and have enjoyed cheering them on throughout their various activities. Jarett graduated in 2022, and Brett will be a part of the class of 2025.
I grew up in the Parkville area and have always called KC home. My parents still live in Parkville and my brother is close to the area, living in Lee’s Summit with his family. We love spending time with them whenever we can! I graduated from Missouri Western State University in 2000, and spent 7 years as an instrumental music teacher in the Atchison Public Schools. After some time staying home with my boys, I began subbing and found my passion working with students on the Autism Spectrum. I have been a part of the Autism program here at Platte County for several years now and am so excited to have my own classroom!
I am thrilled to be a part of the Barry Elementary community and am looking forward to expanding my role as an educator of Pirates!
