Amanda Hooten
Speech Language Pathologist
Barry School & Early Childhood
I have been a Speech Language Pathologist with the Platte County R-3 school district since 2015. I work at Barry School, with early childhood students (ages 3-5), as well as 5th-8th grade students. I have an undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Missouri State University and a Master of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Truman State University. I am a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and am certified with the the Missouri Board of Healing Arts. My passion is to help students build their overall communication skills.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Cameron, and our 2 adorable dogs: a mini Australian shepherd and a black lab. I enjoy painting, reading mystery/suspense novels, playing & watching sports, kayaking, and working in my flower/vegetable garden.
I look forward to working with new and familiar faces this year! Let's go Pirates!
